General Notes: John D. is the name given for John D Jr's father on his death certificate. In the 1870 census they are in Coldwell, White Co., Arkansas.

There are a half dozen John Parrotts born at the same time in South Carolina, making an assignment to the correct family difficult.

John married Catherine Thomas, daughter of Thomas and Nancy. Catherine was born in 1846 in South Carolina.

General Notes: The death certificate for John D Jr lists his mother's name as Nancy Thomas. There is in fact a Nancy Thomas in his household in the 1870 census, but at age 70, is too old to be his mother. Could be his grandmother?

General Notes: Betty Jane Parrott, age 83, of Texarkana, Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Parrott was born October 22, 1929 in Red Top, Missouri and lived in Texarkana most of her life.

She was retried from Lone Star Ammunition Plant and a member of Heritage Baptist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and theYoung at Hearts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Norman Parrott.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Lisa Parrott; three grandchildren.

Burial will be in Red Top Cemetery in Red Top Missouri.
